The All-Weather model employs a series of proprietary algorithms to determine the optimal timing for long versus short positions. In markets identified as bullish on both a short- and long-term basis, the portfolio invests in leveraged securities. The primary objective of the model is to remain fully invested in equities during bull markets, while limiting exposure to the select days with the highest probability of profit during bear markets. Activity is typically minimal in bull markets. In contrast, during bear markets, the model tends to be more active, executing multiple trades to mitigate volatility and generate positive returns. In extreme bear market conditions, the portfolio may utilize leveraged inverse securities.
